The Catholic missionaries at Cizhong: new article with colour photos

On my substack site I posted an article with colourised photos telling the story of Cizhong Catholic church in Yunnan, and the Swiss missionaries who built it.

As you've probably noticed, I haven't been updating this blog much recently. Partly because I've been on my Yellow River cycle trip (and beyond through Yunnan and Sichuan). 

In the meantime, I've also been posting colourised photos at my new Substack site. These include many of Joseph Rock's photos that have been transformed from monochrome to colour by AI. 

I'm not a fan of AI generally, but these seem to have come out well.
