This is the sacred mountain of Shenrezig, at Yading. The area is now popular with Chinese trekkers, but 80 years ago it was a no-go zone. A gang of Tibetan bandits ensured that no-one left alive!
It is the custom to do a kora or circuit of the three peaks: Shenrezig, Jambeyang and Chanadorje.
This picture was taken from the south, near Wuse Hai (Five Colours Lake), which can be seen at the bottom of the picture. legend has it that you can see your future if you stare into this lake long enough
