I stumbled across this photograph collection while researching my namesake, well sort of. My name is Joseph Rock, the third most famous person by that name according to Google :) although my name was coincidental, since although my mother has been a life long Natl. Geographic reader she did not recall him when I was christened.
I've been interested in Dr. Rock the explorer for quite some time, but copies of his work are hard to come by in the states and usually come with a price tag in the hundreds of (US) dollars.
This particular photo really speaks to me. Thanks for posting it.
-Joseph Rock
